Expression of Urea Transporter B in Normal and Injured Brain

Boyue Huang et al.

Summary: Urea transporter B (UT-B) is widely distributed in mammals and plays a significant role in neurological diseases. It is expressed universally throughout various cells in the central nervous system except for endothelial and smooth muscle cells. Experimental data suggest that UT-B may be a potential target for the treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and white matter edema.
