Ground-state properties of electron-electron biwire systems

Rajesh O. Sharma et al.

Summary: The ground-state properties of parallel, infinitely thin electron-electron biwires were studied using the variational Monte Carlo method. It was found that the interaction energy increases logarithmically with decreasing interwire separation and decreases as d(-2) with increasing separation, while the PCF shows oscillatory behavior. The MD near k(F) exhibits Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid behavior, even with additional interwire interactions.
