Quark and gluon contents of a lepton at high energies

Tao Han et al.

Summary: In high-energy leptonic collisions, the collinear splittings of electroweak gauge bosons and leptons dominate. We incorporate the QCD sector into the Standard Model and evaluate the quark and gluon parton distribution functions (PDFs) inside a lepton at double-log accuracy. The splittings of photon and subsequent quarks and gluons control the quark/gluon PDFs at low scales, while the massive gauge bosons contribute significantly at high scales. The jet production cross section can reach several nb in e(+) e(-) (mu(+)mu(-)) collisions at TeV c.m. energies, and the total cross section for photon-induced hadronic production can reach several hundreds or tens of nb in high-energy electron or muon collisions.

Probing the RK(*) anomaly at a muon collider

Guo-yuan Huang et al.

Summary: The LHCb measurements indicate a deficit in the mu/e ratio in B -> Kll decays, supporting the hints of lepton universality violation observed in the R-K(*) ratio. Possible explanations include heavy Z' bosons or leptoquarks mediating b -> s mu(+)mu(-) processes. A muon collider can directly measure this process and shed light on the lepton nonuniversality scenario. Investigating different center-of-mass energies, it is shown that the parameter space for Z' and leptoquark solutions to the RK(*) anomalies can be mostly covered. Effective operators explaining the anomalies can be probed with a muon collider setup at a center-of-mass energy of 6 TeV and integrated luminosity of 4 ab(-1).

Hunting wino and higgsino dark matter at the muon collider with disappearing tracks

Rodolfo Capdevilla et al.

Summary: This study investigates the capabilities of a muon collider experiment in detecting disappearing tracks from the decay of a heavy, electrically charged long-lived particle. By devising a simple strategy to control background effects and implementing a cut-and-count analysis, it is shown that weak doublets and triplets within a certain range can be covered. Additionally, efficiency maps are provided to estimate the coverage of disappearing tracks for arbitrary models at muon colliders.

Probing the muon g-2 anomaly with the Higgs boson at a muon collider

Summary: The heavy new physics contributions in leptonic dipole moments and high-energy cross sections of lepton pairs can be connected independently of the model. A muon collider running at several TeV of center-of-mass energies can be a unique test for new physics in the muon g - 2. Moreover, the current bound on the muon electric dipole moment can potentially be improved significantly down to few x 10^-22 e cm.

Heavy Higgs bosons in 2HDM at a muon collider

Tao Han et al.

Summary: The study focused on the discovery potential and discrimination power of non-Standard Model (SM) heavy Higgs bosons in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Models (2HDMs) at a multi-TeV muon collider. It was found that pair production through universal gauge interactions is dominant, with single Higgs boson production associated with heavy fermions being important in certain parameter regions. Different types of 2HDMs can be distinguishable for moderate and large values of tan beta, extending the kinematic reach of the heavy Higgs boson mass to the collider energy.

Electroweak couplings of the Higgs boson at a multi-TeV muon collider

Tao Han et al.

Summary: We estimate the precision of measuring the Higgs boson couplings with electroweak gauge bosons, HVV and HHVV(V = W+, Z), as well as the trilinear Higgs self-coupling HHH at a multi-TeV muon collider. At very high energies, both single and double Higgs productions rely on vector-boson fusion (VBF) topology. By utilizing kinematic information in the invariant mass spectrum, sensitivities for different couplings could reach a 95% confidence level at specific center-of-mass energies with integrated luminosities.
