Emergent universe from Energy-Momentum Squared Gravity

Summary: To avoid the big bang singularity, a new model of emergent universe is proposed based on the covariant extension of General Relativity known as Energy Momentum Squared Gravity. By considering the dynamics in a specific background and analyzing the solutions, it is shown that some static past eternal solutions can naturally enter the thermal history without encountering the big bang singularity, allowing for an expanding universe history.

Dynamics of spherical collapse in energy-momentum squared gravity

Summary: This paper investigates the dynamics of spherical collapse in the framework of energy-momentum squared gravity, considering nonstatic spherically symmetric space-time in the interior and static spherically symmetric metric in the exterior regions. Dynamical equations were derived using the Misner-Sharp technique to analyze the impact of matter variables and dark source terms on the collapsing phenomenon, establishing a correlation among dark source terms, Weyl scalar, and matter variables. Positive dark source terms and negative pressure gradient were found to provide anti-gravitational behavior, leading to the stability of self-gravitating objects and preventing the collapsing process.
