SWCNT network evolution of PEDOT:PSS/SWCNT composites for thermoelectric application

Shasha Wei et al.

Summary: By systematically studying the evolution of SWCNT network structure in PEDOT:PSS/SWCNT composites based on TE properties and AFM observations, it was found that the TE performance can be divided into three regions with the increase of SWCNT loading: an S-shape change of electrical conductivity in Region I, a gradual increase in Seebeck coefficient in Region II, and almost independent TE performances in Region III.

Improvement of the thermoelectric properties of PEDOT:PSS films via DMSO addition and DMSO/salt post-treatment resolved from a fundamental view

Suo Tu et al.

Summary: The combination of DMSO solvent doping and physical-chemical DMSO/salt de-doping can improve the thermoelectric properties of PEDOT:PSS films, achieving a high power factor. This approach induces significant changes in the PEDOT molecules at the molecular level and mesoscale level, optimizing both electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient through assembly and purification processes.

Fabrication and conductivity of thin PEDOT:PSS-CNT composite films

S. Mamykin et al.

Summary: This study compared two methods for fabricating composite conductive films for use in solar cells based on Si, consisting of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and PEDOT:PSS. Results showed that depositing SWCNTs and PEDOT:PSS in layers led to films with significantly higher conductivity compared to applying a film from their mixture.

Morphological modulation to improve thermoelectric performances of PEDOT:PSS films by DMSO vapor post-treatment

Yabo Xu et al.

Summary: By adding DMSO in PEDOT:PSS solution and subjecting the films to DMSO vapor post-treatment, the electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) films are optimized, leading to an enhancement in power factor. Through microscopical investigations and analysis of carrier concentration, it is confirmed that the improvements in thermoelectric performance are attributed to the enhancement of carrier mobility.

A Facile Solution Engineering of PEDOT:PSS-Coated Conductive Textiles for Wearable Heater Applications

In Su Jin et al.

Summary: The solution treatment of PEDOT:PSS-coated textiles with DMSO and methanol enhanced crystallization of PEDOT chains, improved contact with fibers, and effectively removed the insulating PSS part, resulting in highly conductive textiles with reduced sheet resistance. The conductive textiles achieved a maximum temperature of 133 degrees C within 20 seconds at a low applied voltage of 3 V, showing promise for multi-functional wearable heater applications.

All-Polymeric Pressure Sensors Based on PEDOT:PSS-Modified Polyurethane Foam

Matteo Beccatelli et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the functionalization of a sensor using PU foam and conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS, which can convert mechanical pressure into electrical signal with linear response and a wide frequency range. A simple micromechanical model is proposed to predict device performance, leading to the development of a flexible shoe insole prototype embedded with pressure sensors to provide critical information on real-time bodyweight distribution and walking dynamics for medical teams.
