Summary: Brainstem cavernous malformations (BSCMs) in children can exhibit a range of clinical behaviors, from benign lesions to highly aggressive lesions with repetitive hemorrhages. Given the longer life expectancy and higher functional recovery in children, surgical treatment should be considered early for young patients with surgically accessible lesions and an aggressive clinical course, preferably in a high-volume center.
