White-light emission lead-free perovskite phosphor Cs2ZrCl6:Sb3+

Changheng Chen et al.

Summary: A white-light-emission phosphor was prepared by doping Sb3+ into Cs2ZrCl6, which showed double emission bands at 495 and 622 nm. The intensity ratios of cyan light and red light emission bands were tunable by adjusting the Sb3+ concentration, with the red component increasing with increasing Sb3+ concentration. The phosphor exhibited a photoluminescence quantum yield of approximately 78% and has potential applications in white-illumination LEDs.

Mingzhe Liu et al.

Summary: Bi- and Sb-doped halide perovskites have been studied using first-principles calculations, showing good prediction of excitation and emission energies. Different behaviors of Sb3+ and Bi3+ in different hosts were observed, along with the impact of neighboring ion vacancies on defect levels and emission energies. This study provides valuable insights into the photoluminescence processes and excited-state dynamics of Bi3+ and Sb3+-activated halide perovskites, as well as other luminescent materials containing ions with a lone ns(2) pair.

Multiexcitonic Emission in Zero-Dimensional Cs2ZrCl6:Sb3+ Perovskite Crystals

Bing Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the double luminescence phenomenon in Sb3+-doped Cs2ZrCl6 perovskite crystals, demonstrating the independent charging processes of host self-trapped excitons and dopant-induced extrinsic self-trapped excitons, with minimal interactions between the two in the zero-dimensional crystal lattice. Dynamic color tuning in Cs2ZrCl6:Sb3+ crystals is achieved through selective excitation of different self-trapped excitons, offering exciting opportunities for constructing multicolor light-emitting devices and encrypting multilevel optical codes.

Efficient Energy Transfer in Te4+-Doped Cs2ZrCl6 Vacancy-Ordered Perovskites and Ultrahigh Moisture Stability via A-Site Rb-Alloying Strategy

Tong Chang et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of all inorganic lead-free Te-doped CsZrCl vacancy-ordered perovskites were successfully synthesized, resulting in green-yellow STE emission with high PLQY. Investigation into the effects of A-site Rb alloying revealed that a small amount of Rb+ can improve the luminescence intensity and moisture stability. The study provides insights into the emissive mechanism induced by Te ion doping and offers potential for improving environmental stability for further applications.

Efficient, Stable, and Tunable Cold/Warm White Light from Lead-Free Halide Double Perovskites Cs2Zr1-xTexCl6

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: The lead-free double perovskite Cs2Zr1-xTexCl6 with efficient and stable white-light emission was reported in this study, achieved by introducing Te4+ for bright self-trapped exciton (STE) emission. The phosphor exhibited efficient white luminescence with tunable color temperature and high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) up to 96.1%. The key factors for the highly efficient and tunable white emission were efficient energy transfer between multiple luminescent centers and appropriate doping concentrations.

Amanda Wang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a method to quantify uncertainty in DFT energy corrections, showing how it can improve accuracy in computational phase stability predictions. Results suggest that unstable polymorphs in many chemical systems may actually be predicted stable when uncertainty is taken into account. This highlights the importance of considering uncertainty in assessing compound stability.
