Ultra efficient 4-Nitrophenol reduction, dye degradation and Cr(VI) adsorption in the presence of phytochemical synthesized Ag/ZnO nanocomposite: A view towards sustainable chemistry

Muhammad Farooq et al.

Summary: In this study, silver-doped zinc oxide nanomaterials were synthesized using Capparis decidua plant extract as a natural reducing agent. The structural morphologies and applications of the nanomaterials were investigated using various analytical techniques. The results showed that Ag doping enhanced the photocatalytic potential of ZnO by limiting the drop back probability of electrons. Optimal experimental conditions, such as pH, catalyst dose, and contact time, were determined to maximize the catalytic activity. The synthesis of Ag/ZnO nanocomposite was found to be a cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach.

Development of MoS2/O-MWCNTs/PES blended membrane for efficient removal of dyes, antibiotic, and protein

Samira Arefi-Oskoui et al.

Summary: In this study, a nanocomposite of MoS2 nanosheets and oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (O-MWCNTs) was synthesized and used as a nanoadditive to improve the polyethersulfone (PES) polymeric membrane. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized using SEM, energy dispersive X-Ray dot mapping, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Blended membranes with different amounts of nanocomposite showed enhanced permeability and pollutants removal, with improved hydrophilicity of the PES membrane in the presence of nanocomposite. The modified membrane exhibited stability and promising application potential in treating textile and industrial wastewaters.

Heterogeneous UV-Switchable Au nanoparticles decorated tungstophosphoric acid/TiO2 for efficient photocatalytic degradation process

Yasin Orooji et al.

Summary: In this study, gold nanoparticles were well-decorated on the surface of TiO2 using HPW as reducing intermediate linkers, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic performance compared to anatase TiO2 and HPW/TiO2. The photocatalytic rate of the prepared nanocomposites increased by 6.5-fold and 4.6-fold, and the reusability study confirmed their high photocatalytic activity after three cycles.

Statistical and experimental studies of MoS2/g-C3N4/TiO2: a ternary Z-scheme hybrid composite

U. C. Jadan Resnik Jaleel et al.

Summary: The ternary photocatalyst MoS2/g-C3N4/TiO2 was prepared using layered and exfoliated MoS2, g-C3N4, and TiO2 through hydrothermal and wet chemical methods. The synergism among the three nanoparticles through the Z-scheme pathway allows the separation of electron-hole pairs, making MoS2/g-C3N4/TiO2 an outstanding material in the fields of photocatalysis and water treatment.
