Study of Cu/Mn Catalysts for Coreactions of NH3-SCR and CO Oxidation

Yang Zheng et al.

Summary: By synthesizing bimetallic doping catalysts of Cu and Mn, it was found that Cu1Mn2 exhibited the highest catalytic activity in coreaction, with NO and CO conversions higher than separate reactions. Cu1Mn2 possessed the most acid sites, strongest acidity, and highest oxidation and reduction activities among the investigated catalysts.

Catalytic oxidation of ethyl acetate on Ce-Mn-O catalysts modified by La

Yi-Jie Lao et al.

Summary: The La/Ce(0.5)Mn(0.5) catalyst prepared by wetness impregnation showed high activity and stability in the catalytic oxidation of ethyl acetate, converting it into CO2 with high efficiency. The intermediates identified were mainly ethanol and acetaldehyde, with concentrations below certain levels. The dissociative adsorption modes of ethyl acetate on the catalyst surface were found to be related to the surface oxygen species, affecting the stability and selectivity of the catalyst.

Preparation of the Mn/Co mixed oxide catalysts for low-temperature CO oxidation reaction

Mojtaba Ghiassee et al.

Summary: Mn/Co mixed powders prepared by coprecipitation method showed excellent catalytic performance in low-temperature CO oxidation, with the best performance observed at a Mn/Co molar ratio of 1:1. Incorporation of 1wt.% Pd further enhanced the catalytic activity, with the catalyst exhibiting 100% CO conversion at 80 degrees C.

Effects of phosphorus modification on the catalytic properties and performance of CuCeZr mixed metal catalyst for simultaneous removal of CO and NOx

Qi Liu et al.

Summary: Phosphorus-modified CuCeZr catalyst demonstrates high conversion rates for both CO and NOR, achieving up to 90% conversion at temperatures of 200-350 degrees Celsius. The modification balances the catalyst's redox ability and surface acidity, facilitating the suppression of NH3 over-oxidation during selective catalytic reduction (SCR) process. This work paves the way for simultaneous CO oxidation and NH3-SCR reactions on a single catalyst, offering a novel approach for synergistic control of flue gas pollutants.

Engineering of crystal phase over porous MnO2 with 3D morphology for highly efficient elimination of H2S

Xiaohai Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, alpha-, beta- and delta-MnO2 catalysts with hierarchically porous structure were prepared using a facile oxalate-derived hydrothermal method. The phase-dependent behavior for selective oxidation of H2S over MnO2 catalysts was studied, revealing that delta-MnO2 exhibited superior activity and stability with almost 100% H2S conversion and sulfur selectivity. The hierarchically porous structure of delta-MnO2 nanosphere suppressed the generation of by-products SO2 and sulfate, making Mn-based catalysts more suitable for industrial applications.

Temperature-Dependent Influencing Mechanism of Carbon Monoxide on the NH3-SCR Process over Ceria-Based Catalysts

Xiaoqiang Wang et al.

Summary: The presence of CO has a negative impact on the activity of ceria-based SCR catalysts, primarily inhibiting the chemical adsorption of NO and forming undesirable -NCO species, leading to decreased SCR activity. At high temperatures, CO also disrupts the reduction process of NO and generates undesired NOx.
