Increased lipid peroxidation by graphene quantum dots induces ferroptosis in macrophages

Yan Shao et al.

Summary: The study revealed that exposure to GQDs induced ferroptosis in RAW264.7 macrophages by down-regulating glutathione peroxidase 4, a key protein regulator of this process. Additionally, GQDs exposure led to decreased levels of GSH and increased lipid peroxidation.
