What is public trust in the healthcare system? A new conceptual framework developed from qualitative data in England

This study aimed to define public trust in the healthcare system through analysis of news, interviews, and focus groups, resulting in a comprehensive framework. Public trust is rooted in anticipation of benefits, legitimizing healthcare system actions and encouraging public participation. Trust levels are influenced by spill-over effects, and various actors impact public trust within and outside the healthcare system.
