Dependence assessment in human reliability analysis under uncertain and dynamic situations

Xianghao Gao et al.

Summary: Human reliability analysis (HRA) is important in fields like nuclear engineering, and assessing dependence among human tasks is a key part of HRA. However, existing methods rely on subjective and uncertain expert opinions and cannot handle dynamic influencing factors. In this paper, a new model based on Dempster-Shafer evidence theory and fuzzy numbers is proposed to address these challenges.

CaFtR: A Fuzzy Complex Event Processing Method

Fuyuan Xiao

Summary: Recent research has shown a growing interest in fuzzy complex event processing-based decision-making systems, which require well-managed operator distribution. However, dynamic input events bring intrinsic uncertainty, making operator distribution more challenging. The proposed CaFtR strategy utilizes TOpSIS to achieve cost-aware, fault-tolerant, and reliable operator scheduling, demonstrating efficiency through a case study on the StreamBase system.

Coverage Reliability Evaluation of Wireless Sensor Network Considering Common Cause Failures Based on D-S Evidence Theory

Qiang Liu

Summary: This article evaluates the coverage reliability of wireless sensor networks from a new perspective using the D-S evidence theory. It establishes a belief-degree-coverage model considering common cause failures and proposes two algorithms to calculate three reliability indexes. The first algorithm, the perimeter coverage algorithm considering interference, shows better complexity compared to others, while the second algorithm, based on Monte Carlo simulation, is easy to program and evaluate parameter influences on coverage reliability.

Entropic Explanation of Power Set

Yutong Song et al.

Summary: A power set is defined as the set of all subsets of a set S, including S itself and the empty set. One property of the power set is that the number of subsets of S is 2 to the power of n. This paper proposes a possible explanation of the power set as all possible k-combinations, where k ranges from 0 to n. The physical significance and uncertainty of the power set can be measured by Deng entropy.
