The identification of byproducts from the catalytic reduction reaction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol: A systematic spectroscopic study

Reduction of 4-nitrophenol Mediated by Silver Nanoparticles Synthesized using Aqueous Leaf Extract of Peronema canescens

Summary: In this study, silver nanoparticles synthesized using aqueous extract of Peronema canescens leaf were developed as an alternative for reducing 4-nitrophenol. The reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol by AgNPS in the presence of sodium borohydride proceeded rapidly at room temperature without any additional treatments. The synthesized AgNPS displayed spherical shape with an average particle size of 19 nm.
