Evaluation of the Effects of Processing Technique on Chemical Components in Raphani Semen by HPLC and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS

Sijia Gao et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of different processing techniques on the chemical components of Raphani Semen. The results showed that frying the Raphani Semen at 130 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes resulted in the highest content of glucoraphanin and sinapine thiocyanate, and the best effect was achieved with Enzyme Killing and Glycosides Preserving. The study identified 54 compounds in the fried Raphani Semen using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS. This study provides a scientific basis for evaluating the quality of fried Raphani Semen products and optimizing the frying technology.

Toxicological effects of single and joint sulfamethazine and cadmium stress in soil on pakchoi (Brassica chinensis L.)

Changrui Zhou et al.

Summary: The combined pollution of heavy metals and antibiotics in soil, specifically sulfamethazine (SMT) and cadmium(Cd), negatively impacts the growth and physiological response of pakchoi. The interaction between SMT and Cd stress affects the uptake of these pollutants by pakchoi, leading to oxidative damage and reduction in nutrients which ultimately disrupt the antioxidant defense system and quality of pakchoi.

Contribution of phenylpropanoid metabolism to plant development and plant-environment interactions

Nai-Qian Dong et al.

Summary: Phenylpropanoid metabolism is crucial for plant development and interaction with the environment. Plants have evolved multiple branches of this pathway, generating a variety of metabolites. Various factors regulate phenylpropanoid metabolism to maintain homeostasis during plant development and in response to environmental stresses.

Providing a view for toxicity mechanism of tetracycline by analysis of the connections between metabolites and biologic endpoints of wheat

Tao Han et al.

Summary: The study found that tetracycline had negative effects on the growth, chlorophyll and carotenoid contents, cell permeability, reactive oxygen species levels, and malondialdehyde content of wheat seeds. Amino acid metabolism and carbohydrate metabolism were closely related to these effects. Additionally, 13 metabolites played different roles in mediating the effects of tetracycline on plants.

Ecotoxicological effects, environmental fate and risks of pharmaceutical and personal care products in the water environment: A review

Huan Wang et al.

Summary: The widespread use of PPCPs has negative impacts on aquatic organisms and the environment, as well as potential hazards to human health. It is essential to study the acute and long-term toxicity of PPCPs, evaluate their environmental behaviors, and make a reasonable assessment of the ecotoxicology and human health risks associated with PPCPs.
