Nanoscale magnonic Fabry-Perot resonator for low-loss spin-wave manipulation

Huajun Qin et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates reconfigurable spin-wave transport in a hybrid YIG-based material structure, providing a practical route for beyond-CMOS magnonic computing. This is achieved through a local frequency downshift of the spin-wave dispersion relation in a continuous YIG film caused by dynamic dipolar coupling to a ferromagnetic metal nanostripe, enabling programmable control of propagating spin waves on a fraction of their wavelength.

Ferromagnetic-waveguide width dependence of propagation properties for magnetostatic surface spin waves

Kenji Kasahara et al.

Summary: The propagation properties of magnetostatic surface spin waves in Permalloy waveguides were studied experimentally and numerically. It was found that the spin wave intensity and resonant frequency were influenced by the width of the waveguide and the magnitude of the applied magnetic field. The results showed that the magnetization direction of Permalloy can affect the spin wave mode, especially when miniaturized ferromagnetic waveguides are used.

Control of magnetization dynamics by substrate orientation in YIG thin films

Ganesh Gurjar et al.

Summary: Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) and bismuth (Bi) substituted YIG (Bi0.1Y2.9Fe5O12, BYG) films were grown in-situ on single crystalline Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) substrates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The orientation of the Bi-YIG film affects the lattice constant, surface roughness, Gilbert damping, and effective magnetization. The study shows that substrate orientation plays a crucial role in influencing the properties of the YIG and BYG films grown by PLD, which have potential applications in spintronics and related devices.
