Statistical approaches on the apparent horizon entropy and the generalized second law of thermodynamics

Everton M. C. Abreu et al.

Summary: This work investigates the effects of three nongaussian entropies, namely, the modified Renyi entropy (MRE), the Sharma-Mittal entropy (SME), and the dual Kaniadakis entropy (DKE), on the violation of the generalized second law (GSL) of thermodynamics. It is found that the GSL may be violated when considering these extended entropies, and the parameters of these entropies need to be constrained to small values to obey the GSL. The study also reveals that for MRE, SME, and DKE, the GSL is not obeyed for small redshift values in the Lambda CDM cosmology.

Modified cosmology through Kaniadakis horizon entropy

Andreas Lymperis et al.

Summary: By applying the gravity-thermodynamics conjecture with the use of Kaniadakis entropy, new modified cosmological scenarios are obtained, including an effective dark energy sector depending on the single model Kaniadakis parameter K. The cosmological evolution shows the usual thermal history, with deviations from ΛCDM cosmology at small redshifts in the dark energy equation-of-state parameter. Additionally, the Universe always results in a dark-energy dominated, de Sitter phase at asymptotically large times.

Baryogenesis in f (P) gravity

Snehasish Bhattacharjee

Summary: This work investigates gravitational baryogenesis within the framework of f(P) gravity, exploring its applicability in addressing the baryon asymmetry of the universe. The study finds that modifications in CP-violating interactions occur in f(P) gravity, and the baryon-to-entropy ratio depends on the time derivatives of both Ricci scalar R and nontopological cubic term P. A more complete CP-violating interaction proportional to f(P) is also considered, showing that the baryon-to-entropy ratio is influenced by R, P, and f'(P). Acceptable baryon-to-entropy ratios compatible with observations are found for rational values of the model parameter.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking in the late Universe and glimpses of the early Universe phase transitions a la baryogenesis

M. Sami et al.

Summary: Spontaneous symmetry breaking plays a crucial role in late cosmic acceleration and interesting applications in electroweak phase transition. Specific forms of coupling are used to address local gravity constraints in the late Universe. In the early Universe, spontaneous symmetry breaking is extensively used in the study of electroweak phase transition.

Summary: This work investigates a cosmological model based on the modification of the entropy-area black hole relation proposed by Saridakis, using observational and dynamical system analysis. Through Bayesian analysis, constraints on free parameters are obtained, consistent with the standard cosmological paradigm. Summary: In this study, gravitational baryogenesis in f(R) theory of gravity with an anisotropic Bianchi I space-time is investigated. Two models related to specific forms of Ricci scalar are presented, and the baryon-to-entropy ratio is derived in an anisotropic background. The gravitational baryogenesis is examined and its behaviors are studied.

The generalized second law of thermodynamics with Barrow entropy

Emmanuel N. Saridakis et al.

Summary: The study found that when the surface of a black hole deforms due to quantum-gravitational effects, the sum of the entropy enclosed by the apparent horizon plus the entropy of the horizon itself is always a non-decreasing function of time, thus validating the generalized second law of thermodynamics. However, if Barrow entropy is applied, the situation may change, and the generalized second law of thermodynamics could be violated depending on the universe's evolution. In order to avoid violation, the deformation from the standard Bekenstein-Hawking expression should be small as expected.

Baryogenesis from ultralight primordial black holes and strong gravitational waves from cosmic strings

Satyabrata Datta et al.

Summary: Ultralight primordial black holes, through their evaporation, can produce right-handed neutrinos related to successful baryogenesis. The existence of cosmic strings may lead to strong stochastic gravitational wave signals. However, recent findings by NANOGrav PTA may be in tension with the baryogenesis process involving large cosmic string loops.

Barrow holographic dark energy in a nonflat universe

Priyanka Adhikary et al.

Summary: The study discusses the construction of Barrow holographic dark energy in nonflat universe, deriving differential equations for the evolution of dark-energy density parameter and providing analytical expression for the dark energy equation-of-state parameter. The scenario is shown to describe the thermal history of the universe and the sequence of matter and dark energy epochs. Comparisons with flat cases and different spatial geometries reveal interesting behaviors in the evolution of dark-energy equation-of-state parameters under Barrow exponent variations. Incorporating slightly non-flat spatial geometry improves the phenomenology of Barrow holographic dark energy while maintaining smaller values for the new Barrow exponent.

q-generalized Tsallis thermostatistics in Unruh effect for mixed fields

Giuseppe Gaetano Luciano et al.

Summary: The study shows that the particle distribution detected by a uniformly accelerated observer in inertial vacuum deviates from the pure Planckian spectrum when considering the superposition of fields with different masses. The statistical origin of this phenomenon is elaborated, with an effective description provided in terms of nonextensive q-generalized statistics based on Tsallis entropy. It was inferred that q < 1, indicating the superadditive feature of Tsallis entropy in this framework.
