A new Greenland digital elevation model derived from ICESat-2 during 2018-2019

Yubin Fan et al.

Summary: This study generated a Greenland digital elevation model (DEM) with a specific time stamp using ICESat-2 observations. The ICESat-2 DEM showed excellent accuracy stability and improvements compared to other DEMs. It provides valuable information for studying elevation and mass balance changes in Greenland.

Validation of methane and carbon monoxide from Sentinel-5 Precursor using TCCON and NDACC-IRWG stations

Mahesh Kumar Sha et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the high quality of S5P methane (CH4) and carbon monoxide (CO) data by validating the products against global Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) and Infrared Working Group of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC-IRWG) stations. The results show that the S5P data meet mission requirements and exhibit a seasonal dependence, with some exceptions due to co-location mismatches and data availability.

Methane retrieved from TROPOMI: improvement of the data product and validation of the first 2 years of measurements

Alba Lorente et al.

Summary: This study describes the improvements made to retrieve CH4 from TROPOMI using the RemoTeC full-physics algorithm, including a constant regularization scheme and a higher resolution surface altitude database. It was found that SEOM-IAS provides the best fitting results among three molecular spectroscopic databases tested. The implementation of an a posteriori correction in the TROPOMI XCH4 data product significantly improved the quality and accuracy of the measurements, leading to good agreement with TCCON and GOSAT observations.
