Autoantibody profiles in systemic sclerosis; a comparison of diagnostic tests

Wynand Alkema et al.

Summary: The study found that 79% of systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients tested positive for one or more SSc-associated autoantibodies. There was high agreement between different diagnostic methods for detecting SSc-specific autoantibodies, but lower agreement for SSc-associated autoantibodies and less prevalent SSc-specific autoantibodies. Further standardization is needed for low prevalent SSc-specific and SSc-associated autoantibodies.
