Summary: PGE2 levels are significantly increased in lung tissue of patients with interstitial lung disease, and play important roles in infection-induced exacerbation of lung fibrosis. Interventions targeting the COX2-PGE2 axis can ameliorate lung fibrosis, with PGE2 having dual roles in fibrosis exacerbation.
