Summary: Each year, the American Cancer Society compiles data on cancer occurrence and outcomes in the United States. The latest data shows that breast and prostate cancer progress has stagnated, while lung cancer has shown improvements in survival rates. Lung cancer incidence for advanced disease has declined while localized-stage rates have increased, resulting in higher survival rates. Mortality patterns align with incidence trends, with lung cancer deaths declining rapidly, breast cancer deaths slowing, and prostate cancer deaths stabilizing.

Diagnostic Performance and Clinical Impact of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Imaging in Early Relapsed Prostate Cancer After Radical Therapy: A Prospective Multicenter Study (IAEA-PSMA Study)

Juliano J. Cerci et al.

Summary: Biochemical recurrence (BCR) in prostate cancer (PCa) patients remains a clinical challenge. This study evaluated the diagnostic performance and clinical impact of PSMA PET/CT for evaluating BCR in PCa patients on a worldwide scale. The results showed that PSMA PET/CT had the capability to detect local and metastatic recurrence in most PCa patients with BCR. The positivity of PSMA PET/CT results was correlated with various factors, including the Gleason score and primary treatment strategy, and led to changes in therapeutic management in more than half of the patients. The study demonstrated the reliability and feasibility of PSMA PET/CT in the workup of PCa with BCR.

IVIM-DKI for differentiation between prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia: comparison of 1.5 T vs. 3 T MRI

Archana Vadiraj Malagi et al.

Summary: Implementing an advanced spatial penalty-based reconstruction at 1.5 T can provide a suitable alternative to the traditional IVIM-DKI model at 3 T for clinical characterization of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia. The novel model with TV spatial penalty function showed lower estimation errors and improved detection of prostate lesions compared to the traditional model. Parameters estimated using the novel model at 1.5 T demonstrated high diagnostic performance in cancer lesion detection.
