This review focuses on the green synthesis of nanoparticles and their applications in various fields. The green chemistry approach for nanoparticle synthesis is gaining importance due to the use of non-toxic reagents and chemicals. The nanoparticles synthesized via this approach have the advantage of being less toxic. They are extensively used in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Various spectroscopic techniques are used for characterizing these nanoparticles.
The present review is based on the green synthesis of nanoparticles and their applications in various fields. The green chemistry approach for the synthesis of nanoparticles is acquiring more importance by making use of nontoxic reagents and chemicals. It is considered to be an eco-friendlier approach as compared to conventional methods. The main characteristic of the nanoparticles synthesized via the green chemistry approach is that they are less toxic. Many nanoparticles are being extensively used in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. These synthesized nanoparticles can be characterized using various spectroscopic techniques like TEM, SEM, FTIR, UVVisible absorption spectroscopy and so on. Different types of nanoparticles especially metallic nanoparticles are also reviewed in the present article.
