Summary: The study analyzed the structure and evolution of the Coimbra's city council expenditure between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, finding that the decrease in expenses was mainly due to a decline in revenue and a more rationalized expenditure. Comparing with the 17th century, there was a noticeable change in expenditure structure during this period.
