Concentration on demand - A microfluidic system for precise adjustment of the content of single droplets

Summary: This study introduces a novel microfluidic system that can generate the required reagent concentration in a single droplet or produce a sequence of droplets with a specified periodic distribution of concentrations. Digital algorithms are used to ensure superior precision, repeatability, and flexibility in concentration setting through simple operations such as merging and splitting droplets. Unlike traditional Digital microfluidic (DMF) systems, this system is based on channel-based microfluidics operated by programmable syringe pumps, making it easy to integrate with other microfluidic networks.

Fluorescence-activated droplet sorting of PET degrading microorganisms

Droplet-based microfluidics platform for antifungal analysis against filamentous fungi

Summary: In this study, a droplet-based microfluidic platform was used for antifungal analysis of single spores of filamentous fungus Alternaria alternata. The viability assay and antifungal screening results obtained from this platform were equivalent to conventional methods, showing a high correlation among the three assays. This droplet-based microfluidic platform has potential applications for fungicide resistance analysis and combinatorial screening of antimicrobial agents and antagonistic fungi.
