Universality classes of the Anderson transition in the three-dimensional symmetry classes AIII, BDI, C, D, and CI

Tong Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigates universal critical properties of delocalization-localization transitions in three-dimensional unitary and orthogonal classes with different symmetries, demonstrating the presence of these transitions with finite disorder strength. By analyzing the localization length, the critical exponent of the transitions and scaling function of the (normalized) localization length are determined. The results provide insights into the behavior of the transitions in these nonstandard symmetry classes.

Large negative magnetoresistance in the antiferromagnet BaMn2Bi2

Takuma Ogasawara et al.

Summary: A very large negative magnetoresistance is observed in the insulating regime of the antiferromagnet BaMn2Bi2 when a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the direction of the sublattice magnetization, allowing it to reenter a metallic state. This effect is seemingly unrelated to any field-induced magnetic phase transition, and is associated with the extreme sensitivity of conduction processes of holelike carriers to the infinitesimal field-induced canting of the sublattice magnetization.

Electron correlations and charge segregation in layered manganese pnictide antiferromagnets showing anomalously large magnetoresistance

N. Jansa et al.

Summary: Recent research on layered manganese-pnictide antiferromagnets BaMn(2)Pn(2) (Pn=P, As, Sb, Bi) has shown anomalously large magnetoresistance, with underlying factors such as weakly localized charge carriers and collective spin fluctuations potentially affecting the phenomenon. The study used local-probe Mn-55 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to investigate the microscopic picture of magnetoresistance and found correlations between the appearance of additional features in the magnetic response, resistivity anomalies, and anomalously large MR, suggesting a connection between these phenomena.
