Probability Distribution of a Signal's Peak Time in a Molecular Diffusive Media

Ethungshan Shitiri et al.

Summary: This study examines the randomness of peak time distribution in molecular communication systems using simulated data and defines parameters, deriving semi-analytical expressions through Poisson and Normal approximations. The Poisson model is found to be a better fit through numerical analysis. The key finding of extreme values with a heavy right-tail distribution can be a useful tool for improving channel models.

A TDMA-Based Data Gathering Protocol for Molecular Communication via Diffusion-Based Nano-Sensor Networks

Ethungshan Shitiri et al.

Summary: This study investigates the application of molecular communication in in-body medical systems, proposing a novel TDMA-based MAC protocol to address challenges such as packet collisions and limited capabilities of nano-sensors in MCSNs. The research highlights the correlation between channel utilization and time-slot occupancy ratio as a tool for optimizing MCSN performance, and demonstrates that the proposed protocol offers better performance compared to conventional TDMA.
