Tunable spectral squeezers based on monolithically integrated diamond Raman resonators

E. Granados et al.

Summary: This study reports on the generation and tuning of single-frequency laser light in a monolithic Fabry-Perot diamond Raman resonator in the visible spectral range. The linewidth of a multi-mode nanosecond pump laser was squeezed to a nearly Fourier-limited single axial mode Stokes pulse by adjusting the resonator temperature. The tuning range was over 20 GHz, enabling the production of Fourier-limited pulses in the 400-500 nm spectral range.

Spectra synthesis of multimode lasers to the Fourier limit in integrated Fabry-Perot diamond resonators

Eduardo Granados et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a direct and simple method for generating single-frequency light using phonon-resonant Raman interactions within a monolithic diamond resonator. The technique allows for the production of narrow spectral bandwidth nanosecond optical pulses, with enhanced power spectral brightness compared to the pump laser. This research paves the way for integrating pulsed narrow linewidth light sources into integrated photonic platforms.

On-chip electro-optic frequency shifters and beam splitters

Yaowen Hu et al.

Summary: Efficient and tunable electro-optic frequency shifters controlled by continuous and single-tone microwaves are achieved through engineering the coupling between optical modes in ultralow-loss waveguides and resonators in lithium niobate nanophotonics. The devices provide high frequency shifts up to 28 gigahertz with an on-chip conversion efficiency of approximately 90%, and can be reconfigured as tunable frequency-domain beam splitters.

Widely-tunable single-frequency diamond Raman laser

Xuezong Yang et al.

Summary: The study presents a diamond Raman laser capable of generating continuous wave output in the range of 590-615 nm. Despite a broad pump spectrum, single frequency output is achieved, offering a practical approach to obtaining high-power single-frequency lasers in a wavelength region not well served by other laser technologies.
