Insight into diffusive and convective processes affecting gold nanoparticles microclustering by multiphoton photoreduction

Tiziana Ritacco et al.

Summary: Multi-photon direct laser writing in polymeric matrices doped with a tetrachloroauric acid water solution enables the creation of gold nanoparticle clusters through photo-reduction of AuCl4- ions. By controlling the energy dose and delay between laser exposures, as well as understanding the effects of dehydration of the polymeric matrix and concentration gradient of the gold precursor, the density and size dispersity of GNPs can be effectively controlled.

Additive Manufacturing of Gold Nanostructures Using Nonlinear Photoreduction under Controlled Ionic Diffusion

Wera Di Cianni et al.

Summary: This study introduces a promising technique for the synthesis of metallic structures onto solid substrates at the sub-micron scale through multiphoton photoreduction and direct laser writing. By investigating different aspects underlying the growth of gold nanostructures (AuNSs), the study aims to achieve full control of the size and density of the AuNSs, with optimization of writing parameters and exploration of a second bath containing Au3+ for further control.
