Insights into the Crucial Role of Electron and Spin Structures in Heteroatom-Doped Covalent Triazine Frameworks for Removing Organic Micropollutants

Chao Zhu et al.

Summary: This study constructed a series of nonmetallic element-doped covalent triazine frameworks and effectively removed organic pollutants through the adsorption-photocatalysis process. It was found that sulfur-doped CTF showed improved performance in saturated adsorption capacity and photocatalytic kinetics, and there was a positive correlation between electron accumulation and adsorption energy, as well as an enhanced photocatalytic degradation rate driven by spin polarization.

Rational construction of Ni(OH)2 nanoparticles on covalent triazine-based framework for artificial CO2 reduction

Tiansu Zhao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates superior photocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction using Ni(OH)2-CTF-1 composites, attributing the enhancement to improved CO2 capture, stronger visible-light response, and enhanced charge carrier separation/transfer. This innovative approach provides insights into noble-metal-free cocatalysts on CTF semiconductors and deepens understanding of photocatalytic CO2 reduction mechanisms.

Molecular Engineering for Organic Cage Frameworks with Fixed Pore Size to Tune Their Porous Properties and Improve CO2 Capture

Zhen Wang et al.

Summary: Organic cage frameworks (OCFs) are a type of amorphous porous organic polymers with fixed pore size, showing great potential in molecular separations and sensing. Controlling the porous properties of OCFs is challenging due to the low yield for synthesizing highly stable organic cage monomers. Two OCFs, pCage-1 and pCage-2, constructed from different bicyclooxacalixarene cages, exhibit similar pore sizes and significant improvement in porous properties, with pCage-2 showing enhanced performance attributed to the introduction of N-doped triazine unit.
