The Chengjiang Biota inhabited a deltaic environment

Farid Saleh et al.

Summary: The Chengjiang Biota is an early Phanerozoic soft-bodied fossil assemblage that provides a complete snapshot of Earth's initial diversification. This study reveals that the biota lived in a delta environment influenced by storm floods, challenging the traditional view and highlighting the need for revision based on recent advances in sedimentology.

A new eocrinoid from the Guanshan Biota (Cambrian Series 2, Stage 4), with implication of the development of different attachment modes in early Cambrian

Jun Zhao et al.

Summary: A new gogiid called Kunmingeocrinus cupuliformis n. gen. n. sp. has been discovered in the Guanshan Biota of Yunnan Province, southwest China. This newly identified taxon shows morphological similarities with other eocrinoids from the Cambrian Lagerstitten of Guizhou Province, suggesting a similar mode of life. The preservation of this new taxon indicates a weakly biomineralized body.
