Surface enhanced FRET for sensitive and selective detection of doxycycline using organosilicon nanodots as donors

Shuyi Huang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new type of fluorescent organosilicon nanodots (OSiNDs) was successfully constructed and used for the on-site detection of antibiotic doxycycline residue. The fluorescence of doxycycline was enhanced through conformational fixation on the surface of OSiNDs, resulting in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). The optimized method provided a sensitive and selective detection of doxycycline based on ratiometric fluorescence signal.

Simple and efficient synthesis of purple-red carbon spheres and construction of fluorescence resonance energy system for hypochlorite detection

Long Yu et al.

Summary: A new type of purple-red carbon sphere was synthesized as a colorimetric and fluorescent probe for detecting hypochlorite. The carbon sphere with a long absorption wavelength facilitated the design of a highly sensitive fluorescent probe. The probe reacted with hypochlorite, causing the color of the carbon ball to fade and preventing energy transfer. Furthermore, hypochlorite increased the fluorescence intensity.

A highly selective ratiometric fluorescent probe for doxycycline based on the sensitization effect of bovine serum albumin

Lu Ding et al.

Summary: Fluorescent probes with in-situ visual feature have gained attention for detecting doxycycline (DC), a widely used tetracycline antibiotic in animal husbandry. Bovine serum albumin-capped gold nanoclusters (BSA-AuNCs) were used as a ratiometric fluorescent probe to selectively detect DC among tetracycline antibiotics. BSA-AuNCs showed the highest response toward DC, with simple synthesis, short response time (1 min), and low detection limit. This work proposes an efficient strategy for designing fluorescent probes to selectively detect DC among tetracycline antibiotics.

CsPbX3 Quantum Dots Embedded in Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 Microparticles for Bright White Light-Emitting Devices

Yubin Zhao et al.

Summary: CsPbX3 perovskite quantum dots (QDs) were successfully synthesized in situ within the hole of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) using a mechanical chemical synthesis method without organic solvent addition, improving the stability and resistance to ion exchange of the QDs. The presence of CsPbX3 QDs in the ZIF-8 matrix protected the QDs and prevented luminescence degradation, resulting in narrower emission spectra and stable photoluminescence with high quantum yields. The encapsulation of CsPbX3 QDs in ZIF-8 greatly enhances their stability, making them promising for LED and optoelectronic device applications.
