This study describes and characterizes a resonant fiber ring cavity based on a photonic-bandgap hollow-core fiber. The fine spectral dependence of transmission losses in this cavity and their impact on the performance of the resulting resonator fiber optic gyroscope (RFOG) are explored.
A resonant fiber ring cavity based on a photonic-bandgap hollow-core fiber is described and characterized. We explore the fine spectral dependence of the transmission losses of this cavity and their impact on the performances of the resulting resonator fiber optic gyroscope (RFOG).
