Redox-Neutral Ni-Catalyzed sp3C-H Alkylation ofα-Olefins withUnactivated Alkyl Bromides

Mikkel B. Buendia et al.

Summary: This article describes a light-induced redox-neutral Ni-catalyzed method for sp3C-H alkylation of unactivated alkenes with alkyl bromides possessing beta-hydrogens. The method stands out for its simplicity, wide applicability, and exquisite regio- and chemoselectivity, providing an entry point to forge sp3-sp3 architectures.

Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of symmetrical azine derivatives as novel tyrosinase inhibitors

Somaye Karimian et al.

Summary: A series of symmetrical azine derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against tyrosinase. Compound 3f showed effective tyrosinase inhibition, with a three-fold improvement in potency compared to kojic acid as the positive control. Kinetic study of compound 3f confirmed uncompetitive inhibitory activity towards tyrosinase.

Cross-dehydrogenative N-N couplings

Alexis Tabey et al.

Summary: The high electronegativity of nitrogen presents challenges for N-N bond forming cross-coupling reactions, especially in an intermolecular fashion. Dehydrogenative N-N coupling reactions are advantageous in terms of step and atom economy, but require careful design of an oxidizing system to avoid unwanted side reactions. Despite the importance of N-N bonds in organic chemistry, only a few intermolecular hetero N-N cross-dehydrogenative couplings exist, highlighting the need for further research in this area.
