Anchoring Copper Single Atoms on Porous Boron Nitride Nanofiber to Boost Selective Reduction of Nitroaromatics

Jianli Liang et al.

Summary: By studying the single-Cu-atom-decorated boron nitride nanofibers catalyst, it was found to exhibit excellent catalytic performance, high conversion efficiency, and cost efficiency. Although its performance is only at a moderate level compared to all precious-metal-based catalysts, its cost efficiency is the highest due to its lower cost.

Hierarchical porous boron nitride with boron vacancies for improved adsorption performance to antibiotics

Yanhong Chao et al.

Summary: The hierarchical porous boron nitride nanosheets with boron vacancies (Bv-BNNSs) were synthesized via a one-step ZnCl2-assisted strategy, resulting in controllable tuning of morphological and electronic structures and a specific surface area as high as 1104 m(2)/g. The sorption capacity was boosted by 38% due to the pi-pi interaction mechanism. DFT calculations verified the enhanced interaction energy between Bv-BNNSs and tetracycline, indicating great potential in practical wastewater treatment.

Localized surface plasmon resonance of copper nanoparticles improves the performance of quasi-two-dimensional perovskite light-emitting diodes

Lu-Syuan Jhuang et al.

Summary: Plasmonic nanoparticles based on copper were synthesized and capped with polymer to enhance ambient stability, leading to improved efficiencies in perovskite light-emitting diodes. The luminous efficiency can be increased by up to 115%, attributed to the plasmonic effects of the copper nanoparticles. The cost-effective polymer-capped copper nanoparticles may drive demand for plasmonic nanostructures in commercial optoelectronic devices.

Mechanically stable structured porous boron nitride with high volumetric adsorption capacity

Tian Tian et al.

Summary: The research highlights the tradeoff between mechanical stability, porosity, density, and adsorption kinetics in porous boron nitride materials, and introduces a synthesis method for creating mechanically robust structured BN from a polymeric precursor. The structured BN demonstrates high bulk density, rapid adsorption kinetics, and good mechanical strength, with the formation mechanism revealing the importance of crosslinked intermediates in enhancing material strength.
