Fabrication of novel ZnTe-based photocatalyst: Synergistic effect of dye sensitization and bridge engineering for boosting hydrogen evolution over ZnTe

Mei Dong et al.

Summary: A novel ZnTe-based photocatalyst with irregular granular shape and cubic crystal structure is synthesized, and it exhibits excellent photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity. A WC-ZnTe heterojunction is constructed on bulk WC, which achieves the optimal H-2 generation rate. WC acts as an electron bridge to reduce interfacial resistance and suppress electron-hole pair recombination.

MII (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu) complexes with a chromone-derived neutral ligand: synthesis, structural characterization, photocatalytic and mycobacterial activity studies

Mariana Leticia Munin Camargo et al.

Summary: The study reports the reaction between 2-(2-furyl)-3-hydroxychromone and nicotinoyl chloride producing a new neutral ligand (L) and its application in coordination compounds. The researchers analyzed the polymorphism, fluorescence properties of the ligand, and the characteristics of its coordination with metal ions. Additionally, photocatalysts preparation and biological tests with mycobacterial strains were conducted.

Bis(2-pyridyl)ditellane as a Precursor for [HgTe]-Based Clusters and Zwitterionic Compounds

Felipe Dornelles da Silva et al.

Summary: This study investigated the synthesis and structural characterization of six new [HgTe]-based cluster compounds derived from bis(2-pyridyl)ditellane and different mercury salts. Various techniques, including single-crystal X-ray diffraction and FT-IR spectroscopy, were used to study the compounds, and their optical properties were evaluated by solid-state UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The results showed a strong dependence of the optical properties on the core structure's size and composition, with smaller core structures presenting larger energy gap values.
