Do antihypertensive drugs really have antitumor effects? Baseline differences in hypertensive and non-hypertensive patients with advanced pancreatic cancer

Kiyotsugu Iede et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively investigated the baseline differences between hypertensive (HT) and non-hypertensive (non-HT) patients with advanced pancreatic cancer (APC). It found significant differences in characteristics between the two groups, suggesting a major selection bias. Although no significant difference was found in treatment response, HT patients had significantly longer overall survival. The use of antihypertensive drugs was not identified as an independent prognostic factor.
