Dissipative cooling induced by pulse perturbations

Andrea Nava et al.

Summary: The study shows that when dissipation is faster with higher excitation energy, an impulse perturbation cools down the low-energy sector of the system while compromising the high-energy one, eventually stabilizing a transient symmetry-broken state at temperatures higher than the equilibrium critical one. This non-thermal quasi-steady state may persist for a long time after the impulse, if it is tailored correctly.

Violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law in the topological Kondo model

Francesco Buccheri et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the thermal transport through a Majorana island connected to multiple external quantum wires. We discover that, in the presence of a large charging energy, the Wiedemann-Franz law is nontrivially violated at low temperature, contrary to what occurs for the overscreened Kondo effect and for nontopological junctions. For three wires, we observe that the Lorenz ratio is rescaled by a universal factor of 2/3, and we demonstrate that this behavior is due to the presence of localized Majorana modes on the island.

Multiparticle scattering and breakdown of the Wiedemann-Franz law at a junction of N interacting quantum wires

Domenico Giuliano et al.

Summary: In this study, we analyze the charge and thermal transport at a junction of interacting quantum wires close to equilibrium. By computing the thermal conductance and examining the breakdown of the Wiedemann-Franz law at the junction, we provide insights into the physical processes involved. We also investigate the effect of connecting external reservoirs to the quantum wires on the conductance tensors at different fixed points of the junction's phase diagram.

Probing Majorana zero modes by measuring transport through an interacting magnetic impurity

Daniele Guerci et al.

Summary: In this study, transport across an interacting magnetic impurity coupled to the Majorana zero mode observed at the boundary of a topological superconductor is investigated. The hybridization of the Majorana zero mode with the quantum dot is observed in the presence of a finite tunneling amplitude. Notably, the topological regime is characterized by a vanishing Fano factor induced by the Majorana zero mode.

Constructing Integrable Lindblad Superoperators

Summary: The new method is able to construct one-dimensional integrable Lindblad systems with unique features and represent known classical integrable stochastic equations. This approach can be extended to various situations and establishes a structured method for the study of solvable open quantum systems.

Lindblad equation approach to the determination of the optimal working point in nonequilibrium stationary states of an interacting electronic one-dimensional system: Application to the spinless Hubbard chain in the clean and in the weakly disordered limit

Andrea Nava et al.

Summary: Using the Lindblad equation approach, this study derives the range of parameters for a one-dimensional electronic chain connected to two reservoirs, revealing an optimal working point in the nonequilibrium stationary state with a change in the monotonicity of the stationary current. The study demonstrates that this optimal working point is robust against localized defects and quenched disorder, and discusses its importance in optimizing the performance of a quantum circuit.
