Regulatory Effect of Mung Bean Peptide on Prediabetic Mice Induced by High-Fat Diet

Lina Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that dietary supplementation with mung bean peptides (MBPs) plays a key role in the management of prediabetes induced by a high-fat diet. It effectively reduces body weight gain, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, inflammation, and oxidative stress, and alleviates liver and kidney damage. Furthermore, it reverses gut microbiota imbalance and increases microbial diversity.

Hypoglycemic polysaccharides from Auricularia auricula and Auricularia polytricha inhibit oxidative stress, NF-κB signaling and proinflammatory cytokine production in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice

Huan Xiang et al.

Summary: This study successfully produced hypoglycemic polysaccharides from Auricularia auricula and Auricularia polytricha, with the latter generally performing more effectively. Polysaccharides from the mushrooms after passing through a 10-mesh sieve appeared to be more beneficial in combating diabetes-related changes.

Gut microbiome signatures distinguish type 2 diabetes mellitus from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Jiyeon Si et al.

Summary: Specific bacterial taxa were identified to be associated with the severity of NAFLD and T2D, as well as markers of diabetes. Functional inference analysis revealed that endotoxin biosynthesis pathways were significantly enriched in participants with NAFLD and T2D. These findings may contribute to the development of effective therapeutic approaches for metabolic diseases associated with specific bacterial signatures.

Laminaria japonica polysaccharide prevents high-fat-diet-induced insulin resistance in mice via regulating gut microbiota

Qiang-Ming Li et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Laminaria japonica polysaccharide has a significant effect on inhibiting atherosclerosis and improving insulin resistance induced by high-fat diet in mice, along with reducing obesity, inflammation, metabolic endotoxemia, and gut permeability. Additionally, it can regulate gut microbiota, especially Akkermansia, to achieve these effects.

Antrodin A from Antrodia camphorata modulates the gut microbiome and liver metabolome in mice exposed to acute alcohol intake

Zhenwei Yi et al.

Summary: Antrodin A (AdA) from Antrodia camphorata (A. camphorata) mycelium showed a protective effect on alcohol-induced gut microbiota and liver metabolomic disorders in mice with acute alcoholic liver injury. AdA improved hepatic lipid deposition, oxidative stress, inflammation, and liver damage by modulating microbiome and metabolomic responses. It also restored the composition of intestinal flora and regulated alcohol-induced metabolic disorders.
