Piezomagnetic switching of the anomalous Hall effect in an antiferromagnet at room temperature

M. Ikhlast et al.

Summary: Piezomagnetism is a linear coupling between strain and magnetic order, enabling the control of magnetization. This study reports the observation of large piezomagnetism at room temperature in an antiferromagnetic Weyl semimetal, which allows strain to control the anomalous Hall effect. This finding has the potential for spintronics applications.

Magnetism and magnetotransport in the kagome antiferromagnet Mn3Ge

Gaurav Chaudhary et al.

Summary: In this study, classical Monte Carlo and stochastic Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert simulations were performed to investigate the temperature-dependent magnetism of the kagome antiferromagnet Weyl metal Mn3Ge. It was found that a long-range chiral order emerges at a transition temperature below the Neel temperature. Multiple isoenergetic Weyl nodes were argued to be present near the chemical potential based on the crystalline symmetries imposed by the chiral magnetic order. Furthermore, it was shown that tilted Weyl nodes contribute differently to the net longitudinal magnetoconductance and planar Hall conductance, resulting in distinctive signatures.

Long-range supercurrents through a chiral non-collinear antiferromagnet in lateral Josephson junctions

Kun-Rok Jeon et al.

Summary: The study reports on long-ranged lateral Josephson supercurrents through an epitaxial thin film of the triangular chiral AFM Mn3Ge, which can convert spin-unpolarized singlet Cooper pairs into spin-polarized triplet pairs, enabling long-range spin correlations and showing clear spatial quantum interference in response to external magnetic fields. The findings pave the way for the topological generation of spin-polarized triplet pairs through Berry phase engineering of chiral AFMs.

Zeeman term for the Neel vector in a two sublattice antiferromagnet

Sayak Dasgupta et al.

Summary: This study theoretically investigates the dynamics of solitons in two sublattice antiferromagnets under external perturbations, focusing on the impact of Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) interactions. It is found that external magnetic field and spin current couple to Neel vector in a Zeeman-like manner when DM interactions are present, which can efficiently drive antiferromagnetic solitons of different dimensions. Additionally, the effect of straining the local lattice on the Neel field inertia and dynamical properties is studied, with potential applications in antiferromagnetic spintronics.

Anisotropic magnetic interactions in hexagonal AB-stacked kagome lattice structures: Application to Mn3X (X = Ge, Sn, Ga) compounds

A. Zelenskiy et al.

Summary: Compounds with magnetic Mn atoms forming AB-stacked kagome lattices, such as Mn3X, have attracted significant attention. A new general symmetry-based model reveals the presence of interplane Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions and competitive anisotropic exchange interactions in these compounds. These interactions strongly impact the ground state configurations and elementary spin-wave excitations.
