Simultaneous Precipitation and Electrodeposition of Hydroxyapatite Coatings at Different Temperatures on Various Metal Substrates

Summary: This article presents a new metal coating method, which combines simultaneous precipitation and electrodeposition, to increase the integration ability of orthopedic and dental implants. The addition of Ca to the electrolyte results in more compact and uniform coatings, while the addition of P leads to more porous layers. Compared to the classical electrodeposition method, the new approach significantly increases the deposition of crystalline HA on various metal substrates, offering better crystallinity, more uniform and continuous surface, higher roughness, and potentially higher anti-corrosion capabilities.

Summary: A cellulose aerogel with highly enhanced thermal conductivity was successfully obtained by constructing a vertically aligned silicon carbide nanowires/boron nitride network. The composite exhibited significantly increased thermal conductivity compared to pure epoxy, both in vertical and horizontal directions. Additionally, it showed good electrical insulation and excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance.

Tunable negative dielectric properties of magnetic CoFe2O4/graphite-polypyrrole metacomposites

Summary: In this study, CoFe2O4/graphite-polypyrrole (PPy) metacomposites with negative dielectric constant were successfully prepared using the surface-initiated-polymerization method. The negative dielectric constant was regulated by changing the content of CoFe2O4/graphite. The crystal structure, chemical structure, and microstructure of the samples were characterized, and the magnetic properties were reported. This work provides guidance for the fabrication of polymer-based metacomposites with tunable negative dielectric constant.

Summary: A lead-free core double-shell nanoceramic material, Ba0.8Sr0.2Zr0.1Ti0.9O3@MgO-Al2O3@ZnO-B2O3-SiO2 (BSZT@MgO-Al2O3@ZBSO), was prepared by a simple method. The physical and chemical properties of the material were tuned, and fine-grained BSZT@MgAl2O4@ZBSO core double-shell ceramic nanoceramics with a grain size less than 300 nm were obtained. The lead-free core double-shell nanoparticles with a Mg/Al ratio of 4:2 exhibited a maximum energy storage density of 0.91 J/cm(3) under a maximum polarization field of 28.08 kV/mm.

Effect of hydrothermal treatment temperature on the hydroxyapatite coatings deposited by electrochemical method

Summary: The hydrothermal treatment improved the properties of electrochemically prepared hydroxyapatite coatings on titanium alloy, healing cracks and increasing density. At 180 degrees C, the coating achieved maximum crystallinity and a bonding strength of about 23 MPa.
