The role of halide oxidation in perovskite halide phase separation

Ross A. Kerner et al.

Summary: Halide perovskites exhibit non-equilibrium demixing due to halide oxidation, with the most easily oxidized species dictating segregation direction. Collaboration between material engineers and inorganic chemists is crucial to overcome these instabilities and manipulate disorder in the coordination environment.

Mechanics-coupled stability of metal-halide perovskites

Qing Tu et al.

Summary: Metal-halide perovskites (MHPs) have great potential in optoelectronic and semiconductor devices, but they are prone to lattice distortion, severe degradation, and failure under mechanical stress. Understanding the mechanics-coupled stability issues is crucial for the durability and commercial viability of MHP-based devices. By reviewing the impact of mechanical stress on MHP devices, insights into mitigating these stability issues can be gained.

Unraveling the surface state of photovoltaic perovskite thin film

Rui Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient perovskite optoelectronic devices utilize effective surface passivation strategies to regulate device performance, with recent studies showing that surface states play a crucial role. In mixed-cation perovskite films, a nonuniform distribution of cations leads to unique surface defect energetics, with FA cations near the top and MA cations near the bottom. By studying the surface defects, it was found that antisite FA(I) acts as a dominant deep trap, resulting in a low surface recombination velocity of 20 cm/s in FA-based perovskite photovoltaic devices.
