Theoretically guiding the construction of a novel Cu2O@Cu97P3@Cu3P heterojunction with a 3D hierarchical structure for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Lijun Zhang et al.

Summary: Using density functional theory (DFT) calculations, this study determined an experimental scheme for surface modification of Cu2O with Cu3P to produce a 3D hierarchical core-shell structure (Cu2O@Cu97P3@Cu3P) that significantly increased photocatalytic H-2 production under visible light. The introduction of Cu3P onto Cu2O surface improved adsorption free energy of H atoms, reduced overpotential of hydrogen evolution, and increased active sites for hydrogen production. The presence of Cu97P3 bridged substances between Cu2O and Cu3P accelerated electron transfer and improved photocatalytic hydrogen evolution efficiency.

Hierarchically porous S-scheme CdS/UiO-66 photocatalyst for efficient 4-nitroaniline reduction

Jinxin Wei et al.

Summary: The study investigated the pore size effect of metal organic framework UiO-66 on the performance of CdS/UiO-66 catalysts, revealing the distribution differences of CdS nanoparticles in UiO-66 with different pore sizes. It was demonstrated that the macroporous CdS/UiO-66 catalyst exhibited higher activity compared to the mesoporous counterpart.

S-scheme Sb2WO6/g-C3N4 photocatalysts with enhanced visible-light-induced photocatalytic NO oxidation performance

Yuyu Ren et al.

Summary: A novel S-scheme Sb2WO6/g-C3N4 nanocomposite was fabricated and showed excellent performance in photocatalytic ppb-level NO removal. The active species involved in the NO oxidation reaction were confirmed to be center dot O-2(-) and h(+), and the unique S-scheme structure enhanced the charge separation efficiency. The photocatalytic reaction pathway over the nanocomposite occurred via an oxygen-induced route, providing deeper insights into the mechanism of photocatalytic NO oxidation.
