Asymptotic normalization coefficients in nuclear reactions and nuclear astrophysics

A. M. Mukhamedzhanov et al.

Summary: This comprehensive review discusses the main properties of the asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) and its role in nuclear reactions and nuclear astrophysics. Different experimental and theoretical methods for determining the ANC are also addressed.

Modelling overlap functions for one-nucleon removal: role of the effective three-nucleon force

N. K. Timofeyuk

Summary: One-nucleon overlap functions, crucial for nucleon-removal reaction calculations, are efficiently modeled using the source term approach (STA) with minimal model spaces. Proper selection of the removed nucleon interaction can reproduce experimental spectroscopic factors (SFs) and predict isospin asymmetry reduction. Additionally, the role of higher-order induced forces, particularly the three-nucleon force, on source term calculations is studied to improve the description of overlap functions and reduce isospin asymmetry in SFs.

Halo effects in the 11Li(p, t)9 Li reaction

P. Descouvemont

Summary: The Li-11(p,t)Li-9 two-neutron transfer reaction was investigated at the laboratory energy of 33 MeV using the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) and the continuum discretized coupled channel (CDCC) method. The complex three-body structure of Li-11 made the calculation of cross section more complicated, but the model was able to reproduce experimental data reasonably well without adjustable parameters. The study showed that the cross section is highly sensitive to the long-range part and halo structure of the Li-11 wave function.
