We present a linear transimpedance amplifier with 67 GHz bandwidth, offering high transimpedance and gain control modes, suitable for short-range PAM-4 electro/optical communications.
We present a linear transimpedance amplifier with 67 GHz bandwidth. The amplifier has a maximum differential transimpedance of 72.5 dB-Ohm with automatic and manual gain control modes. For enhanced dynamic range, the IC includes input DC current regulation, as well as output DC offset correction using replica biasing. With an input-referred noise current density of 163 pA/sqrt(Hz) and power consumption of 193 mW, the presented circuit topology is suitable for short-range PAM-4 electro/optical communications.
