Neutrino masses, leptonic flavor mixing, and muon (g-2) in the seesaw model with the U(1)Lμ-Lτ gauge symmetry

Shun Zhou

Summary: The latest measurements reveal a significant discrepancy between the theoretical prediction of the Standard Model and experimental observations. By extending the seesaw model and introducing an additional scalar singlet, the gauged L-μ-L-τ symmetry is shown to be crucial for explaining the discrepancy and generating neutrino masses and leptonic flavor mixing.

Scalar dark matter and muon g-2 in a U(1)Lu-Lτ model

XinXin Qi et al.

Summary: We investigate a simple scalar dark matter model within the framework of gauged L-mu-L-tau symmetry. In this model, a new gauge boson Z' and two scalar fields S and Phi, which are singlets under the Standard Model (SM), are introduced. The lighter component of S can act as dark matter, stabilized by an extra Z(2) symmetry. We analyze the possibilities of light dark matter and co-annihilation in the model, and present constraints from various experimental observations.

Simplest and Most Predictive Model of Muon g-2 and Thermal Dark Matter

Ian Holst et al.

Summary: This study suggests that the long-standing anomaly in muon g-2 may be explained by a new particle species that couples to dark matter and affects its annihilations in the early Universe. A comprehensive analysis of the model reveals a viable range of dark matter masses and predicts contributions that could potentially resolve the tension between early and late time measurements of the Hubble constant.

U(1)Lμ-Lτ for light dark matter, gμ-2, the 511 keV excess and the Hubble tension

Manuel Drees et al.

Summary: In this paper, a light Dirac particle psi is introduced as a thermal dark matter candidate in a U(1)(L mu-L tau) model. Along with the new gauge boson X, a possible parameter space is found with m(X) similar to or equal to 20 MeV, U(1)(L mu-L tau) coupling g(X) similar to or equal to 5 . 10(-4), and m(psi) >= m(X)/2. This model can explain the (g - 2)(mu) anomaly, dark matter, the Hubble tension, and (part of) the excess of 511 keV photons from the region near the galactic center simultaneously. It is safe from current experimental and astrophysical constraints but can be tested by future neutrino experiments and low-energy e(+)e(-) colliders.

Summary: The study focuses on the case where the mass of dark matter in the L-mu - L-tau model is greater than that of the muon to explain the muon's magnetic momentum anomaly. The observation of secondary electrons and positrons resulting from dark matter annihilation helps constrain the parameter space of the model in explaining the anomaly.

Search for Z' → μ+μ- in the Lμ - Lτ gauge-symmetric model at Belle

Summary: In this study, we conducted a search for the Z' gauge boson at the KEKB collider using a data sample collected by the Belle experiment. The Z' only couples to heavy leptons and their corresponding neutrinos. Unlike previous studies, we included the effects of initial state radiation in our signal simulation samples and did not observe any signal within the Z' mass range.

Summary: This study presents an extension of the minimal gauged L-mu - L-tau model to explain the anomalous magnetic moments of muon and electron. The model includes additional right-handed singlet fermions and a scalar doublet, resulting in a stable dark matter candidate and light neutrino mass. General kinetic mixing in gauged U(1)Lμ-Lτ model for muon g-2 and dark matter

Timothy Hapitas et al.

Summary: The gauged U(1)L mu-L Tau extension of the Standard Model is proposed as a simple framework to address the tension in muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment. Neutrino constraints on the (g - 2)mu target and the impact of kinetic mixing between the Z' gauge boson and the photon are explored. The study also investigates the effect of kinetic mixing on L mu - L Tau charged dark matter. Joint efforts of neutrino and dark matter experiments, along with precision spectral measurements, are crucial for testing this theory.

Search for U(1)Lμ-Lτ charged dark matter with neutrino telescope

Summary: In this study, a simple Dirac fermion dark matter model in U(1)(L μ-L τ) theory was investigated, where a new light gauge boson X plays a crucial role in both dark matter physics and explaining the muon g-2 anomaly. By utilizing a large U(1)(L μ-L τ) charge, the observed dark matter relic density was realized without the need for a resonance effect of the X boson. Additionally, unique neutrino signatures from sub-GeV dark matter psi were predicted based on the mass spectrum.

Leading hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic moment from lattice QCD

Sz. Borsanyi et al.

Summary: The standard model of particle physics describes the majority of experiments and observations involving elementary particles, with a long-standing discrepancy concerning the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Ongoing experiments aim to reduce measurement errors, theoretically attributed to the leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution, to distinguish between experimental measurements and predictions. The developed methods using ab initio quantum chromodynamics and quantum electrodynamics simulations favor experimentally measured values over those obtained using dispersion methods, with potential for increased precision as computer technology advances.

Muon (g-2) and XENON1T excess with boosted dark matter in Lμ - Lτ model

Summary: The gauged L-μ-L-τ model, an anomaly free extension of the standard model, provides a natural explanation for muon (g - 2) and can also incorporate dark matter to explain electron recoil excess by the XENON1T collaboration. The interactions between electron and dark fermions are mediated by the same neutral gauge boson responsible for generating muon (g - 2), and hybrid thermal and non-thermal mechanisms are required for dark matter annihilation to generate the relic density. The parameter space is tightly constrained and remains sensitive to ongoing and near future experiments.
