Chloroplast Genes Are Involved in The Male-Sterility of K-Type CMS in Wheat

Yucui Han et al.

Summary: The utilization of crop heterosis can greatly improve crop yield. In this study, the chloroplast genomes of sterile lines and a maintainer in wheat were analyzed, and nonsynonymous mutated genes were identified. The expression differences of these genes were further analyzed, and the function of differentially expressed genes was investigated. The results suggest that atpB and ndhH genes may be involved in the reproductive transformation of the sterile line.
