Device-free indoor localization based on sparse coding with nonconvex regularization and adaptive relaxation localization criteria

Kangkang Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new framework for dispatching sensor nodes in device-free localization. The localization precision is improved by using sparse coding and generalized minimax-concave regularization, while the global optimal solution is identified using the forward-backward splitting algorithm. The proposed adaptive relaxation localization criteria further decrease the localization error. Experimental results show that the performance of this algorithm is superior to other algorithms.

CNN-Based Attack Defense for Device-Free Localization

Zhaoyang Han et al.

Summary: Device-free localization technology aims to find a target by analyzing the signal strength difference between transmitter and receiver. However, sensors may be tampered or physically damaged, leading to inaccurate location results or system crash. To address this, we propose a CNN-based attack defense method that can detect falsified signal strength values and error-prone devices.

Block-Sparse Coding-Based Machine Learning Approach for Dependable Device-Free Localization in IoT Environment

Lingjun Zhao et al.

Summary: Device-free localization (DFL) is an emerging technology under the Internet-of-Things architecture with applications in intrusion detection, mobile robot localization, and location-based services. Current DFL-related machine learning algorithms face challenges of low localization accuracy and weak dependability. To address these issues, a dependable block-sparse scheme named block-sparse coding with the proximal operator (BSCPO) is proposed in this work, showing improved robustness and accuracy in noisy conditions compared to state-of-the-art DFL methods.
