Resource Allocation Modes in C-V2X: From LTE-V2X to 5G-V2X

Khabaz Sehla et al.

Summary: As an extension to the Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) paradigm plays a significant role in the development of smart cities. IoV relies on vehicular communications to enable real-time communication between vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and pedestrians, aiming to provide road safety services and time-constrained IoT applications. Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) communication, including LTE-V2X and NR-V2X, is a prominent technology in achieving IoV goals, with resource allocation mechanisms playing a crucial role in their performance. This article presents a comprehensive overview of resource allocation in C-V2X technology, including technical aspects, related works, differences, advantages, drawbacks, and challenges, open issues, and future trends.

Energy-Efficient NOMA Multicasting System for Beyond 5G Cellular V2X Communications With Imperfect CSI

Asim Ihsan et al.

Summary: In this paper, an energy-efficient power allocation scheme for NOMA multicasting in V2X networks beyond 5G is proposed, utilizing successive convex approximation and a low complexity gradient assisted binary search method to optimize power allocation. The optimal solution to the problem is achieved through Dinkelbach and the dual decomposition method. Simulation results show that the proposed suboptimal scheme can achieve near-optimal performance with very low complexity.

Distributed Multi-Agent Meta Learning for Trajectory Design in Wireless Drone Networks

Ye Hu et al.

Summary: This paper studies trajectory design for a group of energy-constrained drones in dynamic wireless network environments. A value decomposition based reinforcement learning solution with a meta-training mechanism is proposed to address this non-convex optimization problem, achieving improved performance in unpredictable environments. Simulation results show significant improvements in service coverage and convergence speed compared to baseline multi-agent algorithms.

A Critical Assessment of C-V2X Resource Allocation Scheme for Platooning Applications

Michele Segata et al.

Summary: V2X encompasses communications between vehicles and everything else, with 802.11p and C-V2X being the two main standardized technologies. While C-V2X has drawn attention and support, its standardization progress is slow, lacks simplicity, and faces obstacles in resource allocation.
