Maternal and child-health outcomes in different endometrial preparation methods for frozen-thawed embryo transfer: a retrospective study

Xin Li et al.

Summary: This study analysed the obstetric outcomes of frozen embryo transfer using different protocols and found that there were differences in pregnancy rates, perinatal complications, and neonatal outcomes. The results suggest a link between the absence of corpus luteum and adverse obstetric outcomes.

Diagnosis and management of primary amenorrhea and female delayed puberty

Satu Seppa et al.

Summary: Primary amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation in females past a certain age, with various disorders in the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis as potential causes. Treatment goals depend on the underlying cause and individual patient, with fertility possible with timely etiological diagnostics even in cases without curative treatment options.

Metabolic syndrome in obesity: treatment success and adverse pregnancy outcomes with ovulation induction in polycystic ovary syndrome

Sushila Arya et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of metabolic syndrome on fertility success and pregnancy complications in obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome undergoing ovulation induction. The results showed that metabolic syndrome was associated with lower rates of live birth and clinical pregnancy, as well as an increased risk of pregnancy complications, particularly gestational diabetes and macrosomia. Additionally, the type of medication used for ovulation induction also affected outcomes, with letrozole showing higher live birth rates compared to clomiphene in the presence of metabolic syndrome.

Improvement of Insulin Sensitivity Increases Pregnancy Rate in Infertile PCOS Women: A Systemic Review

Yuqi Liu et al.

Summary: Improving insulin sensitivity in infertile PCOS women may increase clinical pregnancy rates, regardless of the interventions used. The benefits of insulin sensitivity improvement appear to be greater in PCOS women without severe obesity. The effect of insulin sensitivity improvement on pregnancy rates is independent of changes in BMI.

Summary: Pregnancies conceived after PGT show a higher risk of LBW, PTD, and HDP compared to spontaneously conceived pregnancies, but have overall more favorable obstetric and neonatal outcomes than IVF/ICSI pregnancies. Further studies are needed to confirm these conclusions.

Central Regulation of PCOS: Abnormal Neuronal-Reproductive-Metabolic Circuits in PCOS Pathophysiology

Baoying Liao et al.

Summary: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine disease characterized by hyperandrogenemia, anovulation, and metabolic dysfunction. Central modulation, peripheral sex steroids, metabolic factors such as insulin resistance and obesity, as well as gut microbiota disturbance, all play crucial roles in the development of PCOS. The interaction between neuroendocrine factors and reproductive or metabolic disorders in PCOS development offers potential therapeutic targets for patients.

The Role of Traditional Chinese Formula Ding-Kun Pill (DKP) in Expected Poor Ovarian Response Women (POSEIDON Group 4) Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization-Embryo Transfer: A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

Jing-Yan Song et al.

Summary: The study assessed the effects of traditional Chinese formula DKP on reproductive outcomes of expected poor ovarian responders undergoing IVF-ET. While overall ongoing pregnancy rates did not significantly differ between the DKP and placebo groups, DKP showed potential benefits in improving pregnancy outcomes in expected poor ovarian responders aged 35-37 years. Additional interventional studies are needed to further validate these findings.
