The Effects of the In-Flight Safety Information Characteristics on the Safety Behavioral Intention of Airline Passengers

Hayoung Kim et al.

Summary: This research explores the effects of in-flight safety information characteristics of airlines on attitude, customer satisfaction, customer trust, and safety behavioral intentions. The study finds that reliability, informative, and utility have a positive impact on attitude, while interactivity does not significantly affect attitude. In turn, attitude positively influences customer satisfaction, customer trust, and safety behavioral intentions. This research is believed to be a starting point for future studies on the diverse servicescapes of airport facilities and can provide important basic data and strategies for ensuring passenger safety and efficient measures for airlines' in-flight safety information operation.

Research on Cross-Correlation, Co-Integration, and Causality Relationship between Civil Aviation Incident and Airline Capacity in China

Peng He et al.

Summary: Aviation incidents play a crucial role in accident prevention and safety improvement. This study examines the longitudinal relationship between airline capacity and aviation incidents in China from 1994 to 2020 using time-series analysis methods. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between the total number of incidents and flight hours in China's civil aviation. Different categories of incidents display varying correlations with flight hours. This study provides a statistical perspective on the relationship between incidents and airline capacity, offering valuable insights for policymakers to enhance safety management.

Risk Assessment of Navigation Safety for Ferries

Wen-Kai K. Hsu et al.

Summary: This study aims to discuss the risk assessment of navigation safety for ferries. The research begins by investigating the risk factors for ferry navigation safety from relevant literature and ferry operational features. A fuzzy AHP approach is then proposed to weigh these risk factors, and a continuous risk-matrix model is developed to determine their risk levels. Empirical investigation of ferries traveling across the Taiwan Strait is conducted to validate the practical application of the proposed model. The results provide practical information for ferry operators to improve safety performances and serve as references for related research in the safety management of short-distance passenger ships.

An Analysis of Fixed-Wing Stall-Type Accidents in the United States

Nicoletta Fala

Summary: This paper summarizes and analyzes stall-type accidents that have occurred in the United States over the past sixty years, and provides recommendations for improving pilot training. The research reveals that stall-type accidents continue to have a high prevalence and fatality ratio, being over twice as fatal as an average accident.
