ZnxMn2O4/carbon, recycled from spent alkaline batteries, was used as a cathode material in aqueous zinc batteries, demonstrating excellent specific capacity and cycling stability.
ZnxMn2O4/carbon was recycled from spent alkaline batteries under mild conditions, then applied as a cathode material in aqueous zinc batteries, which can achieve an excellent specific capacity of 292 mA h g(-1) over 200 cycles at a current density of 150 mA g(-1).
